In a mature, suitably sized and well-planted aquarium, peaceful tank mates may sometimes be introduced. Certain peaceful snails are generally good choices, while shrimp may be possible depending on the individual Betta's temperament.

Every Betta has its own personality, and some may actively hunt smaller tank mates.

Avoid fin-nipping fish, aggressive species, highly active tank mates and other male Bettas.

 

Tank Environment
